Pierre P. Leimgruber, MD, FACC joined Spokane Cardiology in 1985. Two years prior to his arrival in Spokane he trained in Atlanta with Dr. Andreas P. Gruentzig, the father and inventor of balloon angioplasty. His special interests include not only coronary artery disease but also the disease of the peripheral arteries such as carotid, renal, and leg arteries. Dr. Leimgruber also enjoys general clinical cardiology and has been involved in numerous research projects involving novel treatment of heart attacks and stent designs. He is a principal local investigator in a prestigious National Institute of Health study comparing the results of carotid artery surgery with carotid artery stents (CREST). He received his MD degree from the University of Zurich, Switzerland and completed all of his post graduate training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology in the US.
 
Bryan E. Fuhs, MD, FACC  Dr. Fuhs is a Spokane native who joined Spokane Cardiology in 1991. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Nuclear Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. Dr. Fuhs's practice includes consultative cardiology, preventive cardiology, pacemaker placement and therapy, invasive diagnostic procedures, cardiac risk assessment and management, echocardiography, nuclear imaging, cardiac catheterization, and expert treatment of heart failure. Dr. Fuhs attended medical school at the University of Washington. He completed his Cardiology Fellowship, Nuclear Cardiology Fellowship, and Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Fuhs enjoys life in the Northwest. He is past president of Spokane County Medical Society and is actively involved in medical information systems.
 
Janice Christensen, MD, FACC joined Spokane Cardiology in September 2001.She was born and raised in Indiana and lived over 20 years in Arizona. She is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Diseases, Internal Medicine and Echocardiography. Dr. Christensen's practice includes consultative cardiology, intensive coronary care, invasive diagnostic procedures, cardiac risk assessment and management, echocardiography,and nuclear imaging. She is an expert in women's cardiovascular disease issues. Dr. Christensen completed her education and medical training at the University of Arizona: undergraduate studies, medical school, Chief Resident in Internal Medicine and Cardiology Fellowship. She practiced at theVeteran's Medical Center in Tucson. Her husband, Michael, is a talented local architect. They have two teenage children. 
 
Gerhard H. Muelheims, MD, FACC joined Spokane Cardiology in July 2002 and is a native of Missouri. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Muelheims provides cardiac electrophysiology and anti-arrhythmia management, insertion and maintenance of internal pacemakers and defibrillators, as well as cardiac care. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Muelheims in the former Director of Electrophysiology at Cardiology Tulsa, Oklahoma. He completed fellowships in Cardiology and Electrophysiology at University of Utah. He received his medical degree from St. Louis University Medical School and completed Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa. Dr. Muelheims and his family enjoy outdoor life in the Northwest.
 
Dieter F. Lubbe, MD, FACC joined Spokane Cardiology in January 2005 and is originally from Cape Town, South Africa. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease and Interventional Cardiology. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Lubbe provides therapeutic interventional procedures such as coronary PTCA and coronary stents as well as invasive and non-invasive vascular care. He also provides acute cardiac care, as well as general consultative and diagnostic services. Dr. Lubbe received his medical degree from University of Cape Town Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency Cardiology Fellowship, and Interventional Fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Lubbe and his wife enjoy outdoor life in the Northwest with their three daughters.
 
Philip R. Huber, MD, FACC Dr. Huber joined Spokane Cardiology in August 2003 and is a native of Lafayette, Indiana. He is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Interventional Cardiology, and Internal Medicine. As an interventional cardiologist, Dr. Huber provides therapeutic interventional procedures such as coronary PTCA and coronary stents. He also provides acute cardiac care, as well as general consultative and diagnostic services. Dr. Huber completed his Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Fellowship at Emory University in Atlanta. He received his medical degree form University of Utah Medical School in Salt Lake City and completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Washington University/ Barnes- Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Dr. Huber and his family enjoy outdoor life in the Northwest.
 
Susan Alexander, MD, FACC Dr. Alexander is a native of upstate New York and joined Spokane Cardiology in 2004. She is Board Certified in Cardiovascular Medicine and Interventional Cardiology. As an Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Alexander performs coronary angioplasty and placement of intracoronary stents, as well as pacemaker implantation. She provides acute hospital care and a wide array of outpatient services including echocardiography and nuclear diagnostic testing. Dr. Alexander received her medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine, completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Stanford University, and her Cardiology Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco. Her Interventional Cardiology Fellowship was with Dr. John Simpson and colleagues; Dr. Simpson is an internationally recognized pioneer and expert in the field. Dr. Alexander, her husband, and their boys enjoy the many outdoor activities available in the beautiful Inland Northwest
 
Michael E. Ring, MD, FACC Dr. Ring received his undergraduate degree at UCLA and graduated form Vanderbilt Medical School in 1982. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Cardiology Fellowship at the University of Arizona followed by an Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Boston University in 1989. Dr. Ring has practiced in Spokane since 1990 with the exception of one year teaching at a University of Connecticut affiliated hospital in 2005. He currently serves as Medical Director of the Cardiac Services Line and Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Ring is the current Governor of the Washington State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology and is a past president of the Spokane County Medical Society. Dr. Ring is board certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. His clinical interests include interventional cardiology, peripheral vascular disease and transcatheter aortic valve replacement.
 
C. Chris Anderson, MD, FAAP, FACC  Dr. Anderson, MD was born in Omaha, Nebraska and moved to Texas during his late childhood. He received his MD degree in 1993 at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. After completing a surgical internship in Houston, he spent a year on sabbatical, performing research in preclinical gene therapy studies and working in the emergency room. In 1995 he started his Pediatrics training at Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals, which he completed in 1998. He moved to Los Angeles and was trained in Pediatric Cardiology at the Mattel Children's Hospital at UCLA from 1998 to 2001. He then went on to further subspecialize in Pediatric Electrophysiology at Children's Memorial Hospital in Chicago from 2001 to 2002. Chris' clinical interests include arrhythmia management, Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, congenital Long QT syndrome, and management of cardiomyopathy. His extracurricular interests include skiing, hiking, mountain climbing, reading, movies, dining out, and spending time with his wife Seiko and children Alex and Luke.
 
Branden R Reynolds, MD, FACC  Dr. is a Cardiothoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon who received his surgical training at University of Washington in both General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery. He was Associate Professor in surgery at the University of Washington from 1996 through 1997. He has a special interest in endovascular therapies for aortic and vascular disease as well as robotic cardiac surgery. He is a co-director of the Deaconess Aortic Center.
